Description
Veterinary Equine Shock Wave Therapy System Shockwave SW13H
Technical principle
Pneumatic Shockwave uses the ballistic principle of shockwave generation: A pressure wave is formed via a projectile by using accelerated compressed air. The compressed air is generated by an electronically-controlled ballisticpressure compressor. Using elastic impact, the kinetic energy of the projectile is transferred into the probe of the applicator and then into the client's body. Consequently, during the treatment, the end of the applicator must be in direct -contact with the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Shockwave therapy for horses has been successfully used to treat many soft tissue and bony problems, both acute and chronic.These include, but are not limited to:
- Soft tissue injuries such as flexor tendon strains, suspensory ligament sprains, annular ligament syndrome/inflammation
The shockwave delivers a mildly uncomfortable stimulus, so the horse is usually sedated.
- Chronic orthopaedic conditions such as pain associated with arthritis e.g. spavin, caudal foot pain or navicular syndrome.
- Persistent pain associated with active ‘splint’ formation and ‘sore shins’.
- Musculoskeletal disorders of the back- vertebral arthrosis, dorsal spinous process impingement or ‘kissing spines’, sacroiliac
-strains.- A non-invasive treatment for angular limb deformities (crooked limbs) in foals.

1.The site of the injury is cleaned and contact gel is applied.
2.A probe that treats at the appropriate depth is chosen, and then 100 to 9900 shocks are applied.
3.Treatment is generally repeated at two to three week intervals for three to five sessions.
The horse should be rested for the first week after treatment, then gradually returned to work depending on the underlying injury.If unsoundness persists or the injury requires longer recovery time, the horse would be rested the entire time between treatments.
The shock wave therapy equipment is based on the technology of unfocused low energy radial waves, which is a kind of acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and fibrous or myoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. This energy promotes healing, regenerating and reparative processes of the tendons and soft tissue. The unfocused low energy radial waves scientifically proved to have a large impact on collagen structure and the skin connective tissue, improving blood circulation and the metabolism of fat cells. The mechanical massage effect reduces the edema and improves the lymphatic drainage of toxins. It stimulates collagen formation, while the skin becomes more elastic and its firmness is visible after only a few treatments.
Advantages of shockwave therapy machine
1.Eliminate surgery;
2.Efficacy, the cure rate of 80-90%;
3.Non-invasive;'
4.Does not hurt the normal tissue, only for the disease, especially the necrotic cells play a role;
